Preparation for the ground floor ceiling

posted in: Construction Photos | 0

As we progress into week four of construction the guys are getting ready for the ground floor ceiling with the installation of the vigueta and bovedilla. For those of you reading from abroad I’m sure you’ll prefer precast concrete beams and ceiling blocks. This is a traditional Mexico building system that is then covered with a welded wire mesh and finished with a concrete compression layer.

This collection of photos were made on 2016-03-15. As usual, there is a simple description below each of the images. If you have any question feel free to email me or comment below.

  • I told the guys I wanted to bump up a little on the structural aspect of the building. This support column was called out at 15cm x 15cm and it's four times larger now at 30cm x 30cm. (That should do it)
