Preparation for the ground floor ceiling

As we progress into week four of construction the guys are getting ready for the ground floor ceiling with the installation of the vigueta and bovedilla. For those of you reading from abroad I’m sure you’ll prefer precast concrete beams and ceiling blocks. This is a traditional Mexico building system that is then covered with a welded wire mesh and finished with a concrete compression layer.

I told the guys I wanted to bump up a little on the structural aspect of the building. This support column was called out at 15cm x 15cm and it's four times larger now at 30cm x 30cm. (That should do it)

Check out the thickness of the front support beam over the entry doors. I need to be careful when I say I want to bump up a little on the strenth of something. It's double sized now!

The electrical panel at the edge of the property is taking shape. This must be built and completed 100% with buzz bar, breakers boxes, and meter holders before we can call CFE (power company) to come and install the wiring and meter. It will be nice to have power on site.
